Coordinated by Denton County Health Department

The Denton County Healthy Communities Coalition (DCHCC) is comprised of Denton County Health Department representatives, university faculty/staff, local hospital representatives, health professionals, City of Denton representatives, local business owners, and concerned citizens.

Mission Statement

To improve the health of Denton County residents through disease prevention and health promotion

Current Work Groups

Physical Activity - Advocating for expanded physical activity programs.

Nutrition/Healthy Eating – Advocating for full disclosure of nutritional information. New Dining Guide available!

Smoking – Advocating for stronger smoking ordinances.

Geriatric Services - Improving options and availability for transportation, housing, and services.

Denton County Healthy Communities Coalition typically meets the fourth Thursday of the month at:
Denton County Health Department located at 535 Loop 288, Denton, Texas 76205.
These meetings are open to the public, but please RSVP below so we can be prepared with enough copies of handouts, etc.

Annually the Denton County Dash (April 9, 2016) is held in honor of National Public Health Week (April 4-10, 2016)
